Refuge Ecology is committed to meeting current Health and Safety Requirements. Considerable effort has been taken to minimise risk and hazards associated with delivering services. Since January 2019 Refuge Ecology has been a SiteWise GREEN registered business.
Daily work plans, Site specific hazard plans, correct personal protective equipment, and well maintained tools are a part of this effort to ensure staff and the general public are not put at risk.
Three of the four staff are Growsafe certified, agrichemicals are handled and used within current legislative requirements.
There is always at least one first aid qualified staff member on site. Recent training to ensure staff are competent and operating safely include:
First aid,
Growsafe basic and standard certification.
Animal Pest Control methods Course.
Units Standards 17763 and 17766 towards a National Certificate in tree felling.
LUV (light utility vehicle) training.
Staff members are not asked to complete tasks beyond their skills or capabilities.
